History

German immigrants moved into the Hildreth area around 1873.  The railroad came through the area in 1885, and served the area for many years.  It had a huge impact on the development of Hildreth as a town.

Carson Hildreth was a major player in starting the town, and it was incorporated in 1886.  In 1907, Hildreth reached a peak population of 603.  It now varies between 360 and 400 residents.

 

 

Hildreth, Nebraska is located in Franklin County, and is 27 miles south of Kearney.  There is a very nice business district, with many services available.

There are 50 blocks of streets within the city limits, all of which are asphalt or concrete.
